The
unthinkable happened. In September 2007, I was diagnosed with
malignant thyroid cancer. I underwent surgery on November 13
to remove both the tumor and my thyroid. Radioactive Iodine
treatments followed in December. The surgery and
radiation treatments have left me with very little energy, but
hopefully thyroid replacement medication will bring me back up to
speed in the near future.
Fortunately I was able to complete the last book in my "Piece of
Texas" series prior to being diagnosed. THE TEXAN'S CONTESTED
CLAIM should hit bookshelves around the country in mid-January.
As to future releases ... well, I'm not currently working on any new
books. At the present time, I spend most of my days sprawled
on the sofa. You might think that sounds like heaven, but
after three months of having NO energy, sofa surfing wears mighty
thin! Hopefully my energy will return soon and I can get
back to my computer and the next story I want to tell.
